I am having several room sanded and refinished. Most sanders have quoted the job using polyurethane but one has specified synteko Solid Hardwood Floor Oil. Does anyone know anything about this product?
Thank you

Not sure on the brand, but when I had my hardwood floors refinished we went with an oil finsh (3 coats) looked great - satin finish, but did not have durability of the poly. Next time I will go with water based poly.
As I've mentioned in previous posts, I've recently (last January) applied this product to my hardwood floor (white oak, no stain). I followed their directions for the first coats, then stepped out on my own. The second day I applied a very thin coat using a floor machine. On the third day, I did that again. After that there was a considerable build-up on the surface. Enough build that it took at least a week to feel hard. This wasn't a problem for me because I was then busy in the shop building cabinets (we weren't living in the house). Other then the dry time, I'd do it all again. We love the look of the floor and I like the ease of repair that an oil finish gives.
As to long term durability, I obviously don't know. So far it is performing well. I am impressed that the finish protected a nasty spill of latex paint and allowed me time to clean it all up without staining through into the wood.

A no hassle floor finish that is very tough and brings out the wood grain and color beautifully is Waterlox Original. I used it on my pine floors in my kitchen ( see attached pic) There is no stain used in this, that is the color of 250 y/o pine taken from my attic floor. I used waterlox on the panel wall above the fireplace and when we replaced the oak mantle on the fireplace with bluestone we used it on that too. The stuff is great I think I used it on that cabinet too but I am not positive about that.
