It is interesting, thanks for pointing it out.. The drawer construction is something I haven't seen before. It looks like they built a box jointed drawer and then glued on a primary wood facing.

If the chest is in good condition it will refinish beautifully. A friend had one, cleaned it up, then spent the next 6 or 7 years getting all the proper tools to fill it. A thing of beauty when done properly.
