I have a client that is going for a “new” kitchen and has asked my opinion on using re-use kitchens from the Habitat Re-Use store. There are some beautiful kitchens available. What are the pros and cons of using “Habitat” kitchens?

I'm a semi-irregular shopper at ReStore so with that in mind....
Advantages Keeps 'stuff out of the landfill
Good to great prices, depending on many factors
No waiting for manufacture & delivery time
and... it helps Habitat for Humanity
Disadvantages... What you see is what they have
Almost impossible to match an extra needed cabinet
You can't specify a particular color or door style
If it's a used set of cabinets, there can be holes where you don't want holes
Used cabinets not always taken carefully from walls

I have never seen a whole kitchen there, mostly bits and pieces. If your client has the patience to wait for the right stuff to trickle in, then great. Otherwise you will have to be extremely creative to make it work.
Really , this would depend on what the home owner wants to end up with .
If the desired look is " shabby sheik " then bring it on , for a totally funky look , there are no rules .
On the other hand you said client ,, that would mean you are a professional or at least charge for your work . My personal feeling is that may work as a DIY approach but not for a professional .Build them a beautiful kitchen and improve their home .
dusty , just a boxmaker
