Here is another one. the Grizzly: model G0444Z. Cast table, slots. 57 in rails. 220v motor. Intro offer of $525 plus shipping ($75 in lower 48 for total $600)
Thanks everyone for your comments and input. With finances the way they are, I may have to keep using the old B&D bechtop. The Grizz seems to be a good buy at 525…if you coudl get one.
Anyone have any comments?

You might want to check locally and see if Shop Fox machines are available and look for Model W1714. http://www.shopfox.biz/w1714.cfm It's essentially the same machine as the Grizzly except for color, nicer handwheels and a 2 year warranty vs. 1 year of the Grizz. Shop Fox machines come from Woodstock International and the same 3 warehouses as Grizzly- they're related companies. Grizzly is direct market and Shop Fox retail. I haven't used either machine but did look at Shop Fox locally and it looked to be a nice machine. Price was $650. You can contact Shop Fox to find out if there's a local dealer ........ phone # and email is on their website.
thanks, I am checking them out

The 0444Z or the SF are some of the better values on the market for a contractor saw IMHO. The one aspect you'll want to be aware of is the electrical requirements for these two models. They both have a two horse motor that draws 24 amps @ 110v, meaning they'll need a special 30 amp 110v circuit, or a 220v line. The next model down, 0444, is 1-1/2hp and will run on a standard circuit, but you give up the cast iron wings. ($435 plus s/h)
Be aware that they're raising their prices on 1/1/05.
