Hi all,
Laguna has a special running now and their dovetail platinum series saw is now $1776. Pretty good deal if you are in the market for a nice saw. I just purchased this saw about 6 months ago (or so) and have really been pleased. You can search and find my review. Great saw for the money.
Anyway, just a heads up

Look like a nice saw. The website says there are no shipping methods to my address in Maine. I could pick it up at any truck terminal. Nobody is answering the phone at 11AM EST. The price is great but I'd like to know the shipping costs.
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
Hammer,I got mine no shipping costs at all. That might be harder to do since it is already at a great deal but tell the guys there that you are looking at all the usual suspects..... griz, pm, delta, steel city.....they'll probably cut you a deal on shipping. In my opinion, this was the saw to buy in reference to all the others. I would have gotten a sawstop, but the price is just far too high. After that, this one seemed like the one to buy. The pm2000 was my second choice but it was more money and way more complicated under the hood which I did not want.Good luckRob Kress
Thanks, Rob. I'll try contacting Laguna this week, see what they offer. I'm using an older Rockwell 10". It has 6' guide bars, which I like, and a Jetlock fence. No complaints but I've been watching for a possible, new saw. Have you added a sacrificial fence? I'm wondering if the UHMW face can be unscrewed and replaced with wood or if you need to use clamps. I often use a power feeder and the Jetlock locks front and back. I worry, maybe needlessly, about a T style fence deflecting.Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
When researching different saws before I bought my new Unisaw I looked into Laguna. I found a whole bunch of really bad news about Laguna's Backing up their equipment when you have a problem.
Just for your own piece of mind check out the comments on Lumberjocks.com
The minor problems I had with my new Delta Unisaw are childs play compared to the horror story's I read. And it was from a lots of different guys all having the same problem with customer service.

Guys,I took the negative press into account when I purchased and also did a lot of reading. What I found was that most of the negative press was fairly old news. So to counter that, I can tell you that my experience has been nothing but positive. I am not overly picky about things and my saw is indeed not "perfect" but I never expected it to be (see my previous review). But when I did break a little part on my blade guard (which I knew would not be available as a part), Laguna just sent me a new blade guard for free.As far as flex and stability of the T-style fence....no problem at all. Couldn't move the end of the fence if I tried (well maybe if I tried really really hard). Don't recall about the fence faces just cause I haven't had the occasion to take them off yet. I think I would clamp anyway or get more plastic for sacrificial ones.Rob Kress
Grizzly is getting rid of their TS stock and making room for the new saw with the riving knife.
I just bought a 10" left tilt and saved $155.00 in shipping; had it in four days. Grizzly makes a good saw and can sell cheap because you buy direct with no middle man. The saw weighs over 400 lbs, has a beefy trunnion with a triple belt drive, 3HP, 220V.
The fit was excellent and required next to no adjustment.
"I worry, maybe needlessly, about a T style fence deflecting."
At least on my new Griz, the "T" fence is EXTREMELY stout. They did not use any thin wall metal when they built this fence.
To give you some perspective; the fence assembly came in a separate box, the fence and rails weighed about 70 lbs. I adjusted it so there was no play in the "T" mount. I can grab it anywhere to slide it into position with no backlash.
You would be able to use your power feeder with ease. The UHMW face comes off with four screw and its easy to install a sacrificial fence.
All of these high end fences are about the same.
This will be my last saw. I had been using a Craftsman contractors saw that was well tunes and did a respectable job. But, the switch was like coming out of a old job pickup into a nice luxury truck.
Thanks for the info, Ron. I haven't made a move towards a new saw. Other things have a way of coming up and it's not a pressing issue for me. I'll see what happens later.Beat it to fit / Paint it to match

Sorry I miss read your posting, I was thinking you were looking for a good deal, without realizing you were talking about getting a good deal.
I tried finding your review, i'm most likely not looking in the right place? I went to search and did not come up with it?
But I do hope you are enjoying your new saw, and that it gives you many years of producing lots of sawdust.
