It would seem as though water based glue should stick to water based finishes. Has anyone tried it and had success or failure. The main reason I ask is because I’ve done a few models lately, trying to get into tight areas even w/ spray has been a problem not to mention sanding between coats of wb finish.

jvk,
"It would seem as though water based glue should stick to water based finishes."
Why? Are you assuming a water-based glue will re-disolve a water-based finish and somehow adhere via a cohesion mechanism?
No. First, water-based finishes are not truly water-based. They are water-borne. Water is a vehicle, not really a solvent. In any case, even if the finish uses water as a solvent, when the finish has cured, the surface is a cured resin surface of varnish, lacquer, whatever and will not redisolve. Glue adhesion is problematic on a cured finish.
If you are pre-finishing parts, you need to carefully mask off the glue surfaces first to avoid getting finish on them.

Rich, You're absolutley right. Guess I had a momentary lapse in frustration. I just got to thinking about finishes sticking to finishes and was thinking the glue would work too.trimjim
