I've got a different brand portable planar & have had the same problems. A couple of thoughts come to mind, but all WAGs. Look at what you're planing. If you're working with lumber that contains a lot of pitch, you're probably stuck with frequent cleanings. I planed a lot of pine & pressure treated wood while working on my house. That gummed up the works frequently. If you''re using primarily hard woods, it would probably have to be something else, as long as you make sure the boards are reasonable clean before machining them. If the rollers have slipped a lot after getting gummed up before you cleaned them, the heat may have hardened them (don't know anything about those materials used, but it seems that heat & age have detrimental effects on most things). Also possible they may have worn to the point that they're not putting sufficient pressure on the board, which would result in slippage, heat & gumming up, I think.
The old-timer mechanics at the gas stations I worked at as a kid used to wipe brake fluid on wiper blades to "freshen 'em up". Might give that a try. Most likely, it'll be a temporary fix as well. My guess is that you'll need to replace the rollers for a more permanent solution
