Hello –
I am new here – I have a quick question that I hope some members of the woodworking community can answer.
I have some old glass cabinet knobs from years ago that I am eventually going to sell, and I would like to know if woodworkers would be a group I should talk to about it. (I am not trying to sell anything here, I am simply interested in whether or not glass art knobs would be considered complimentary or not to the woodwork).
The pulls are made or Pyrex, they are solid (with color), and they are very securely mounted in a 303 stainless base. I had the bases CNC’ed in Taiwan.
They are pretty to look at, and I have always thought they would be best at home on custom jewelry boxes.
If you guys have any opinions, I’d like to hear them!
Thanks,
Thurston

Big on Antiques
Glass knobs difinitely have a place on furiniture as they are hot commodities on antiques. I personally think they would look awesome on painted furniture.
This is not what you asked about but
I am visualizing them on modern brushed aluminum or stainless furniture (seriously great looking there ) and of course they would look great on painted furniture.
Personally I would want more subdued knobs on my figured grain furniture so the eye can enjoy the wood grain without continually being drawn back to the knobs. So for wood furniture I would go with the more sedate versions of your knobs.
PS: I realize you may not have been able to find anyone state side to make your bases but . . .
speaking for my self I would be more inclined to buy them if they were made here on the mainland United States of America even if I had to pay more.
