The Turkey is on the pit smoking nicely…the pork tender is already done. Family is gathering and good wine will be shared. I’m thankful for my family, my new church, my Knots buddies (that’s all of you–thanks for all the good advice through these past years) and Lonnie Bird’s school and great instruction. Your turn….Happy Thanksgiving all. Tom

With a spread out family, last week was spent in Houston and turkey is being shared yesterday (Wednesday), today and tomorrow!
One of our great family traditions began with My Young Bride several years ago. She took an old oatmeal box and had our now adult children decorate it with what have become dilapidated paper Thanksgiving figures. Each person in attendance for the Thanksgiving feast is asked to write on a piece of paper exactly what they are thankful for and place them in the slotted lid of the oatmeal box. After dinner (or at least after the first round) the lid is removed from the box and the pieces of paper are read aloud. We always have numerous slips of paper offering thanks for various family members--very similar to another post here that offers thanks for our Knots family--but there are also slips of paper which offer thanks for our Lord. Amen?

Worked up a big apatite in the shop this morning.
Just finished the best Thanks Giving dinner in the world. I am blessed to live with a chef.
Am thankful to have a job, knock on wood, and a house that is still standing after all the wild fires here and there across the USA this year.
I have just made an important discovery. If I stream the KCSM Bay Area Jazz radio show (they are doing a delightful show this evening) and keep the lights way down low rather than watch TV after eating a huge thanks giving dinner then I don't have to keep my eyes open and can there by devote that energy to digesting while laying on the couch.
Every Little Bit Helps !
Happy Holidays
