Forrest 5 3/8 WWII trim saw blade
Has anyone tried the 5 3/8 blade from Forrest for the Dewalt cordless trim saws (I have a DW 935) ? The “fast cutting” blade that came with the trim saw is fine for 2 X 4’s, but tears the heck out of 1/4″ plywood. The cost of the Forrest is nearly prohibitive for this size blade.
If you have tried one, what do you think about it? Is there a blade with nearly the same performance for less?

Freud makes trim-saw blades. Here's the link. Looks like the TK003 or TK004 would be the ticket for the plywood you're working with. The TK004 is $24.99 on Amazon.

They look interesting alright. However, the one thing I have had a problem with is that no one seems to have voiced any personal experience with these alternative saw blades.
I have seen replacement blades in the local shops (I think a couple of Freuds, also), but the breakout I have gotten with 1/4 inch plywood using the fast cut blade that came with the saw makes me wonder if some of the problem might be with the relatively slow speed of the trim saw itself. I would feel more comfortable with some personal experience before starting to collect these things.

I have 3 Freud blades for my contractor's saw, and they are fine blades. The price of the Forrest seems to be a road-block for you (understandably!), so just wanted to offer a more realistic alternative. I don't see any mystery in tear-out produced by a "fast cut" blade when cutting 1/4" ply. Not enough teeth, probably wrong configuration.forestgirl Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>) you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
mashush*ta or basically panasonic's saw division makes great small blades. I bought some at CoastalTool.com
The closest I found to the 5 3/8 blade required by the Dewalt trim saw was this one. Am I missing something? The arbor I need for the Dewalt trim saw is 10mm.
