Last weekend I started preping the floor for rustoleum epoxy. First on goes the de-greaser then, after rinsing, the acid etcher and rust remover. I rinsed and rinsed and rinsed again and still couldn’t remove the dust film. Read the instructions on the acid etcher (Behr), and it said in such an event to double dilute the mixture and apply again. One more trip to Home Depot, reapplication at 2x dilution, and three rinsings later, I still had dust. Time to call Behr. After some time on hold during which the very nice lady must have contacted the head chemist, she said mix 1 small box baking soda in 1 gal water and rinse to neutralize the acid. I did that last night and rinsed three times. I still have dust. Less than before, but its still there and you can see it on your finger tips after wiping them across the floor. Tonight I’m going at it again. This time on my hands and knees with a bucket of clear water and a sponge. Cleanliness in next to……………..!X%@^# etc., etc.

Geez, MTman, please let us know what solves the problem! That's a serious drag, super-tedious drudgery.
Have you thought about using a garden hose with fine (low volume) mist and a wet/dry shop vac.
Work Safe, Count to 10 when your done for the day !!

Yes and no. Yes to the hose, no to the shop vac. That may be my next choice if my hand brush and sponge don' t do the trick.
I think I would make it a two person project, Hose and suck. Keeping the dust in solution.Work Safe, Count to 10 when your done for the day !!

Did you have any chunks out of the concrete that had to be filled and if so what did you fill them with? I am getting ready to do my garage floor and have several divots and problems from dropping stuff on the floor.
