My son and I are making a DVD storage rack out of purpleheart. It will be kept indoors. What clear or neutral finish do you recommend that will preserve the wood’s color? Is it realistic to expect the color to be preserved with the right finish? I know we should pick a UV resistant finish but are some better than others?

Boss,
Keeping it out of the light might slow the change down but it is inevitable the change will occur, even with a U.V. varnish.
