Finishing is still my weak point so I wanted to ask a basic question before I apply the finish to my latest project. I will be staining white oak to a “Golden Oak” color and then applying a water-based clear finish (probably the General EF finish from Woodcraft) with my HVLP sprayer.
What is the appropriate sequence and material for the staining, sealing & finishing steps. Has anyone used the EF (Environmentally Friendly) finishes from Woodcraft? Would you use them again? Did you use the sanding sealer from the same EF line? Woodcraft also has a line of ProCoat water-based finishes that would be another option. Unfortunately, I am behind a deadline, so I need to use a local supplier. Thanks.

Please post back your feedback on the General finish, I'm curious to know how it goes down. I've heard good things about General finishes overall.
I've used Fuhr and Target waterbourne lacquer with good results.
