Peter:
This is similar to a question on the open forum, but not quite the same. Someone gave me a beautiful antique stag-handled carving set with sterling caps and ferrules. Unfortunately, the horn is badly faded and dull, as if it went through a dishwasher a few times. It is genuine stag (deer or elk I know not which).
How would you approach a restoration?
Cheers!
Joe

Hi Joe,
My basic philosophy with restoration is keep it simple and make it reversible.
Some light brown wax would do wonders for it.
