OK, my first post here. My Old Town polypropelene canoe needs new transom wood pads. One goes inside, the other goes outside the square back end so one can mount a small motor to the canoe. Anyways I have made new wooden pieces out of white oak. Any suggestions on how to finsih them? Also my fishing boat needs new wooden seats. I picked up some marine plywood to make new seats with. I would like them to last a while. Can you recommend a finishing product or method. These will be used in freshwater only. Thanks JK

The longest lasting finish would come from a high quality oil based exterior enamel paint, preferably in a lighter shade.
