Just wondered if anyone out there woud have anything to say about the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship and its workshops in Rockport, ME.
I am an industrial engineer out of work and possibly looking to change careers. I would describe myself as a competent self taught furniture maker, but I am looking for a venue to refine some skills, learn new ones and to expand my horizons for design.
…Much appreciate any comments, -Mike

I have taken multiple classes there and can not say enough good thinks about the school. Peter Korn is the director and he has dedicated his life to make the school one of the best places to learn.
I believe that best feature of the school is that they have something for every level of woodworker. One week beginner classes, all the way to their 9-month comprehensive program that graduates people ready to take on a new career at a high level.
If you have any specific questions I think that you should contact Peter.
Thank you Frank for your helpful comments. I am definitely looking into it.
Regards, -Mike

If you take a look at the video here on FWW by Tim Rosseau building a small end table/cabinet, you will see some of what goes on at the school you are asking about. He does a great job on the project. If he is a baseline to measure the quality of instruction at the school, you're bound to learn a bunch.

Thank you Dan and Dennis for your input, you are both giving me great confidence based on your personal experience to go ahead, Best regards, -Mike
Mike,
I have taken three classes there and had a good experience at all of them. First class school and good people running it. I would not hesitate to take another class. I think they have some scholarships available and also will help you get low cost housing.
Best Wishes, Dennis
