Over the last 2 years I have posted several questions concerning the use of shellac. From all the replies I have received (and I do appreciate them) I can see that there are many, many different opinions about just how to use this product. Having weighed all these options, I decided that I would post the method that has seemed to work best FOR ME.
I cut the shellac (Zinsser Bulls Eye) to 50-50 with denatured alcohol. Since this is pretty thin, I have to move at rocket speed. I apply three coats with an inexpensive nylon brush. The color evens out quite well. After that I sand with 220 and apply two more coats. That’s it. Sounds rough, but that’s what works for me.

Sounds like what works for me as well. Sometimes I'll use orange for one or two coates and clear for the top one or two. Maybe I'm fooling myself, but I think this adds some depth.
Thanks,
Greg

Since you have found something that works and you, could you please post a photo of something you finished so we can determine if it is something others might want to try?
Thank you,
Hastings
Hastings, he said final and he meant final!
