I just got my Festool Rotex 150 E dual use sander. Lo and behold it has an OVAL dust port. Has anyone suggestions on how to mate this with the “hard round hose end” of the Fein Turbo II?

Either Festool or Fein -- I forget which -- sells an adapter. It is like a 3"-long piece of rubber hose. One end stays round to slip over the end of the vac, and the other end deforms to oval to hook to the sander.
Thanks to both of you. I'll check with my dealer.Jerry
My Fein sander has a oval shape dust outlet and use the rubber piece to connect it to the round dust hose. Just like the other poster has said.
Wow, I was just going to ask the same thing as I just purchased the Festool plunge saw and I have a Fein vacuum.
Ask and ye shall receive. :)
Thanks,
Michael
Just be careful what you ask for, a wise man once said.Jerry
And Jerry --So how do you folks like the Rotex? Does the dual function work as well as Festool seems to imply it will? What do you plan to use it for (mostly)?
The tool seems to work "as advertised". Beware - it comes with ONE sheet of 120 grit sandpaper, so you can't really put it to work until you get additional supplies. And, as I didn't have the Vac hookup, I couldn't really do the sanding I wanted to. The nine hole dust collection is great. (Center hole pressurized, outer holes vac.) When you order supplies the RED items are for wood.I currently use a Porter Cable RO sander which is a good light sander but is "single use". I have been bringing my finishes up to gloss using 'fabric wheels with compound' in a drill motor. Results are good, but not good enough. I plan to use the rotary mode of the Rotex with hard, soft and lamb's wool pads to do the same thing, only better. The variable speed feature is very nice, and vibration is low. The unit is easy to hold and control - but I really don't have much "time" on it yet.Jerry
I have the same combination as you. Contact your Festool dealer (Bob Marino) and get their vac hose. It is a perfect pressure fit into the hose opening in the Fein vac and the other end is designed for the Festool lines. Secondary benefit: the new hose is also a perfect fit, without adaptor, for my Porter Cable biscuit joiner.

Great ! Thank you. Hope you have a stomach filling Holiday.Jerry
MarkI'll do that. We have a differnt Rep. When I decided to buy the Rotex I checked Festool's website to locate a dealer. Site froze up - no luck. I called the home office. Got voicemail and left a message asking for local dlr's. Message never answered. So, I went to Google and bought from a dlr. in the East. When I got the catalog with the tool I found a dealer 15 miles from my home !!! Then I discovered that my favorite tool supplier (gives great service with fair prices) was also a Festool dlr, new. I guess it pays to check around before you select a dlr. Can't count on the factory to tell you.Jerry
Jerry,
Sorry it took me a while to see your post.
Just to let you know, there is a Festool Owners Group on Yahoo now. It's growing pretty quickly, and you can get good answers to this kind of question.
Just thought I would let you know about it.

Thanks, I'll try it.Jerry
Jerry, your answer is the adapter as has been suggested.
BTW - How do you like that Rotex. I was going to buy one until I found a Bosch 1370DEVS hiding out in the back warehouse. I snagged it because I already had the Festool 150. The bosch is a lot like the Rotex in that it will run in a non-slip mode with a 11/64 oscillation. By flipping over the insert ring under the pad it goes into slip oscillation mode at 11/64. This is much the same as the Rotex but not as easy to change or as well made. At 11/64, it is one of the most agressive ROS there ever was. The last job (test) I put it through was sanding (Scotch Brite) my secretary's office floor. It worked like a champ but I would NEVER do that with a Rotex. FYI I am a Festool Dealer so if you need something and cant find it locally just email me and we'll get on a land line and get you what you need.
Sincerely;
The Tool Guy
