Anyone used the Festool jigsaw? I’m wondering if the PS2 has the same guide as the more expensive Trion? I got to try out the Trion PS 300 and was really impressed. I couldn’t get the blade to deflect at all. Cut curves thru 2″ stock and it was square, unlike my present saw which won’t cut square even in 3/4″ stock.

Hi,
I have the Trion. It's definitely a good jigsaw. But square cuts in thick stock will only work with the extra thick Festool blades. You'll find that with 'normal' thin blades results are just as disappointing as with other machines.

I recently bought the Festool Trion which is a great saw IMO. I haven't used the PS 2 but I guess that it is an excellent choice, especially if I consider the low price. The best feature on the Festool jigsaw is the CP blade guard IMO. Both, the Trion and the PS 2 offer this feature so I expect a similar performance from the PS 2. Yes, the Trion has more power, a different dust collection, toolless blade change but the quality of the cuts should be comparable.
Of course, performance still depends on the user. I'm almost sure that deflection is possible with any jigsaw if you don't use it correctly. But perfect cuts seem to be quite easy with the CP guard.
