Festool circular saw qustion
I’m looking seriously at Festools TS55 and TS75 with the guide fence to handle certain tasks single-handedly more easily than on a table saw. Has anyone tried to trim a stack of veneer leaves with it?

If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it.
And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
I have the 55 and use it frequently although I have never trimmed veneer leaves with it. My guess is it will work well since it cuts smoother than my tablesaw. Make sure that the leaves are well supported above and below. Try a small test cut first if possible.
Checking the Festool site first is a good idea, it may save you a lot of grief.
Unless your going to do really heavy duty cutting, as in really thick lumber, I would get the TS55. It's lighter and easier to handle. It's a great tool. Good luck.

There is a current discussion on just this question. It has received strong reviews from veneer users.http://www.vacupress.com/forum/forum-view.asp?forumid=3&catlock=1
Thanks for the tip. I went to the website and you're absolutely right, most of the comments were favorable and encouraging relative to cutting veneer. The TS55 is a great saw. One of the responders in the group said that once you purchase one Festool you want them all. He's right. I have the saw, the 1400 router, the Domino and the multi function table. The table makes using the saw easier. I like the router, however without a clear base it's more difficult, for me anyway, to use it on the dovetail jig. I use my Dewalt for that because it has the see through base.
Festool is addictive.Jim
