All, I am replacing my ex window sills and would like to get some input for 1. the caulking from the brick to the wood and also and this is a real ROOKIE question.
If the angel is measuring out for example 68 deg and my compound saw only goes to 45 what do i do? thnkx bob

Bob can you make what you want a little more clear. If you have an angle greater that 45, you may need to make a jig to get you to the angle you are looking for. like a block 5 deg. or 10 deg. etc. added under the edge to gain more of an angle.
Is the window trim an exterior application under the window ( lintel ) east coast term / (Sill) west coast term ) if this is a sill or Lintel the slope on homes on the west coast is around 10 deg.

Bob, subtract 68* from 90*= 22* Set saw for 22* the opposite side will be 68*.

Wood is not a good material for an exterior window sill, if that's what you mean by "ex". Some of the synthetic trim boards, or even something like Trex decking would be better. Wood shrinks and swells so much that it's nearly impossible for any caulked joint to remain sealed.
Be sure to cut a saw kerf along the length of the sill on the underside about ¼ to ½" in from the front edge. That will cause water to drip off the edge and not run back towards the house on the bottom of the sill.
For caulk, I like siliconized acrylic latex the best. I would recommend against silicone because it will never come off the brick and can't be painted over when the sill is replaced again someday.
