someone already had a thread about this I believe, but I have a slight variation. Can I take the rails and move them over one direction to give my self more capacity on one sid over the other?
I’m just sayin’

I've done it on my last two saws...a CMan 22124 with Biesemeyer fence, and a Shop Fox W1677 with the SF Classic fence. In both cases I left the supporting angle brackets in place and just removed the front tube, then slid the tube to the right by the distance of one pre-drilled bolt hole (~ 10"). No drilling was required, and the tube is now held in place by one less bolt...still plenty strong. You may need to relocate the switch. You will definitely need to relocate the measuring tape...that can be lifted and relocated in many cases, but if not, new tapes are available at most wwing stores. Depending on your fence, you may also need to add an extension table for the fence to slide on.
I did exactly that with my Incra fence. I had the Incra on a Craftsman contractor saw. I replaced the Craftsman with a Grizzly 1023slx. I used the shopfox fence that came with the griz for a while, to get the full 52" travel, but missed the Incra. Since I never use the fence on the left side of blade, when I mounted the Incra rails I slid them as far to the right as possible. Now I can use the fence in two positions. One gives me 32" travel, good for 95% of work. Then when need to cut wider panels, I move the fence saddle out to rail end and I have a full 52" to work with. Works great.
