I’m seeing $190 Emmert vise clones from Taiwan. Does anyone have experience with these? There is an excellent post in the old forum, but I wondered if anyone else has one.

I just purchased on from Highland Hardware. I haven't had a chance to bolt it to my bench yet, but I am generally pleased after inspecting it out of the box. It is a monster. My bench may not be strong enough to hold it. ha ha.
The only criticisms I've heard is that the manufacturing tolerances are a little more sloppy than the real Emmert vises. The vise I received, however, looked great. Granted, I've never handled a real Emmert. For the price difference, the clone I received will suit me just fine.
