Does anyone know which companies make an edge lipping planer in addition to Virutex? Their product is very good, but at $500 + shipping, pricey.
Thanks,

Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you’re right.

You should look at the Hoffman first, then you will see what a deal the Virutex is. Lamello makes a lipping planer as well but it's not cheap either. They can be tricky to use. Not fool proof by any means. The low budget way is to set up your router with a wide base and offset handle that runs on the main part of your material you are lipping and you set the cutter so it just barely touches the main surface. Used this successfully long before there was a lipping planer.
