You can get alot, and I mean ALOT of information regarding the EZ system vs. Festool by using the search function. This topic was beaten to hell and back a year or 2 ago.
You will find that the EZ system as an edge guide is quite capable. I know several who have it, and all like it. There are pros and cons, but I'll let you decide what they are, and how the different systems might suit your type of work.
Good luck, and this could get interesting. We haven't had this topic up in a while, so hold on to your shorts.

Jeff,
My thing is this. I don't make my living from woodworking, but in the same breathe I like to be able to work productively and accurately when I'm doing side jobs. I already have circular saws, routers, etc, why pay extra for Festools stuff? Know what I mean?
Chris
I've got EZsmart. Works fine, though you will go through edges if you use it a lot.
Because EZSmart uses an attached base to the circ saw, I bought a PC Mag423 that is used just for the EZSmart. My old Bosch is still my carry-around CS.
If I were doing it again and doing it for my home shop, I would have gotten the festool. Better dust collection, and no attached base that needs to be attached, stay on straight, etc.
If you plan to use the saw guide frequently, I'd say go Festool. If you're an occasional user, you may not get that frustrated with EZsmart's cons, and will be thrilled with its lower cost.
You get more info at the ez forum.
