Hi-
If you read various articles in print and on the internet, you become convinced that you simply must use 6″ diameter tubing for your dust collector for it to work properly, and in fact most cyclone dust collectors have 6″, 7″ or 8″ inlet diameters.
Can anyone tell me where I can find reasonably priced hard and flex piping in 6″ diameter? So far, all I have found is Grizzly. Their flex tubing of that diameter, while expensive, is probably priced about right. Their hard piping in those diameters are probably overly rugged for my home shop, and their price is quite high.
Also, sources for 6″ blast gates, Wyes, and the 6″ to 4″ reducers required to plug the big hose into my machines…
I currently have hard piped my shop with 4″ PVC, with a regular (non-cyclone) dust collector, its working decent, but considering upgrading to a cyclone for more efficient shop layout.
Thoughts? TIA,
Eric.

Contact Oneida Air. They have everything that you could possibly want for dust collection. If you have not bought your cyclone yet, take a look at their Dust Gorilla's. If you buy their cyclone, they will lay out you ductwork on a diagram for free.
