Does anyone have a good source for dust collection bags? Or is there an easier solution? I have a 50-760 Delta that uses the 6mil plastic chip bag.

Ok I think I am lost here. Do you need to replace this bag for some reason? Or are you trying to us it as a junk bag? I just take the bag off put a standard junk bag completely over the clear one and invert the whole thing, then I pull out the clear bag and put it back on the collector. No muss no fuss.
Of course in my area if I set out a full bag of dust in a clear bag at the road for junk collection I think I would get lynched by the anti-junk/recycle crowed and I know they junk guys would not take it unless I bribed them.
Then again I am a heathen and I tend to just take my dust out back and burn it in the fire pit. (I have acreage)

Sorry, it got ripped:( It's amazing how sharp the edges/corners of newly surfaced boards can end up. My attempts at fixing the gash haven't been so successful so I thought it would be easier to spend a couple bucks and get some spares.
Ok, I understand. An yes those edges are nasty. I managed to drop a freshly planed cherry board onto another one pinching my finger inbetween the two edges and cut myself very baddly on both sides of my finger, about a month ago. Not nice.
Well I really can't help you with this one but if you find a place please let us know as i would like a spare to keep around just in case. I hate to do something like rip the bag and then have to wait a week while i find a new one. And i have hit the stupid bag a couple times.

Looks like I might be able to get something from Grizzly but I will first have to check my dims. I thought I had looked there but I guess I didn't look hard enough.
Several companies sell them, I think, but Penn State's the one I have bookmarked Look at the last two items on this page. 40-gallon bags are $22 for a box of 10.

Dang now that's some good info!! thanks!
I have also read somewhere that trash compactor bags work - don't know myself, but they are stout bags - my only question would be if they are large enough for the dust collector.

Check out Wynn Environmental. They sell 10 mil bags at a good price. While there, check out their cartridge filter conversions. Get rid of the cloth bags entirely. These filter @ 99.5% efficiency down to 0.02 microns. Cost of filter conversion with a supply of 10 mil plastic bags is about $140 for a spun poly filter.
Have the same problem finding chip collector bags. found mine @ http://www.mikestools.com.
Home Depot has a heavy duty 40 gal. black plastic contractors box of bags. 30 plus on the count for under $25.00
Those bags are less than half the thickness of the Penn State bags I referenced. There ain't nothin' more fun than cleaning up your shop after a DC bag tears in mid-process, wouldn'tcha think?forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
I have the same DC and I ruined the original bag wht first time I emptied it. Go to the Delta website. I ordered 3 replacement bags for about $15. In a year, I'm still on the first, so they should last quite a while.
By the way, has anyone figured out an easy way to install the bags? I never could get the steel band to work. I tape the bag over the cloth-covered snap hoop but after the bag gets dusty, the duct tape no longer holds. How do you do it?
I use the snappy spring steel thing in the cloth. IF you fold the bag over about 2" or so and then snape the sprind steel thing in place it works well. It is a bit of a pain to get off but.....

Like Doug said, fold the bag over (from the inside to the outside). But the trick to both installing and removing is to push one side of the "hoop" up higher into the cylinder, get the rest of it in just against that lower rim, then pull the higher side down. It takes a bit of juggling, but it gets easier after you've done it 2 or 3 times.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
I use the cloth covered inside ring as well, folding over the bag from inside to out. Then I press once side of the ring toward the other forming sort of a quarter moon , just watch your pinky when you put it back in and it snaps in place. Very easy to do.
Yeah that is pretty much what I do. I have more issues taking it out then putting it in. Right now i tend to pull the top bag a bit out of the way so I can reach one hand into the inside then pull from the inside while pushing form the outside to get the bottom bag started to be removed.

I had to empty the bag last night and I thought of a simple method that worked surprisingly easy. I turned the bag inside out and stuffed it inside with the opening hanging down. Then it was easy to snap the cloth covered ring in place. Then pull the bag down. Took all of 30 seconds and I got it right the first time.
Why didn't I think of it the first time?
Ok now that is a good idea, I will have to try it next time I put the bag back. Now all you have to do it come up with a simple way to remove the bag and we are in buisness!

"Now all you have to do it come up with a simple way to remove the bag...." Push one side up from the inside. It only has to move a little ways to take all the pressure off, and you can squeeze it and bring it out.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
