Duraline HI A/T in a circular saw
Has anyone here tried the Forrest Duraline HI A/T blade in a handheld circular saw? I just noticed that they make a 7-1/4″ version. The reason I ask is that I use a circular saw to break up sheets of Baltic Birch and other plywoods, and the tearout on cross-grain cuts occasionally exceeds the 1/8″ or so I allow. (I know, I know. I should get a Festool TS55.)
Basically, I’m asking if it’s about the same as any other top-notch blade, or it’s in a class by itself.

Here is what I have, and I set it up just for cutting ply.
I have the Portercable 743k with the forrest WWI (7 1/4). I also use the trugrip clamp edge 50". It fits across a 48" ply easily and I use the first factory edge to get started which most of the time is pretty good. I use my squares to get both sides aligned. I have 4 cheap sears saw horses that will support the ply while I cut. I liked the PC because of the light magnesium base that was very true, and an easy measure from the blade edge to the guide edge. It makes setting the clamp very easy. I've used it numerous times with finished quality cuts in redoak ply without issue. I attach my vac hose to the out port on the saw and I don't even have much dust to deal with. I cut some MDF with it and no dust, the pick up on the PC got it all. When I added it all up, it's still a lot cheaper than a panel saw. Take care!
If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it.
And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
Steve- I have been using it in my Milwaukee with the EZ smart guide and the cuts are smooth and chip free. The blade is in a class by itself so is the EZ smart, you don't have to go for the bucks of a festool. - Kris
