I have some curved table stringers that I bandsaw cut to a decent line. I need to sand out the tool marks, so I thought I’d use a drum sander chucked into my drill press. Is there a logic to what diameter of drum sander I use relative to the radius of the curves I’m sanding? I notice the Boss spindle sander has a relatively small sanding spindle, but you can get them up to 3″ dia. as a single bit.

As long as it fits in the space, the bigger the better, as you'll get the smoothest surface that way. Of course, you need to adjust the rotational speed as you increase the diameter to avoid going to fast.
