I would like to buy a drill press and am limited on the space but I don’t want to compromise quality for the space. I always like to buy the best tools because it is a long term investment.
If I consider buying a used one which brand is the best?
Any recommendations is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

You need to give some price ranges that you are looking for. There are "best" in each of them. If you could really afford it, the new Powermatic DP seems extremely nice and at a decent, but not cheap, price.

I am looking not to spend more then $1000
I'll assume the drill press is for woodworking mostly . For $1000.00 you have a lot of choices, new or old. I would look for a dp with at least 3/4hp motor and a threaded rod height adjustment. It must have a quill lock. Also a morse taper quill with a thru hole for a drawbar would be much better than a standard Jacobs taper. With this feature you could use a morse taper endmill holder in place of the chuck for over head routing. I use endmills this way or even router bits once in a while.
