Hi all,
I am about to begin a project for my shop which involves 21 drawers. For a recent project with 11 drawers it cost nearly $250 for Accurides and the projected costs for the new project is for $400. I love the slides but I’d like to find something similar that costs less. Does anyone know what I could use? Thanks in advance for any help.

Craig,
There was a big discussion on this just recently. http://forums.taunton.com/fw-knots/messages?msg=45105.1

I just bought 10 pair of their 24" full extension slides...with shipping they were $66.

Trevor,
How do this slides compare to more expensive ones? Any problems with sticking or more difficult to mount?
Craig
You might try your local hardwood wholesaler. Moving from retail to wholesale saves close to 50%. I bought some Hettich soft close undermount slides for $25 per pair and Bloom from Rockler or Woodcraft are as I remember it around $45 per pair. You could get lower quality ones that are still pretty good for $12 per pair.Domer
I typically only buy the cheap sliders, I can't justify spending a lot of money on "high end" sliders for the shop. And I'd rather spend the money I save on new tools :-)<!----><!----><!---->
As far as I can tell they are the same as the sliders you can get at Home Depot or Lowes, just for a 1/3 of the price they charge.<!----><!---->
They work fine for me. Occasionally I'll blow them out with compressed air (just to get rid of any saw dust) and lube then up with wd40.<!----><!---->

Chris,
Thanks for the link to slider discussion. This is just what I needed!

A&H Turf supply has the lowest prices for Accuride that I know of.
If the sliders do not have to be new check a office supply store to see if they have any used cabinets for sale or free. The handles might work for you too.
