Brink,
I'm afraaid Taunton use the flash video convention that merely streams the video and doesn't allow you to download it to view at your leisure. I wish they were downloadable too (as well as bigger - which they are working on apparently).
No doubt there is a utility out there somewhere in freeware land that will enable you to record a flash video somehow. However, I've no idea where to find such a thing.
Why does Taunton not allow downloads? Are they wanting to sell the videos eventually? I wonder if one of the editors or Matt Berger would care to comment?

If you use Firefox, there is a simple extension that does just that... https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5229

Thanks to all for responding. I can download firefox and the add on thanks to large hard drives now. The video is a prime example on someones own ideas and work methods on how to achieve an end result of a project that can be done in many different ways.
The flash download author is still trying to workout the bugs with bright cove - the format most used on the FWW site.
I never really paid attention to what variant of Flash video FW is using. Yes, you're right, Brightcove seems to be a problem for the Firefox plugin. There are several other capture tools for embedded video. One of them should work.http://www.orbitdownloader.com/

Unfortunately, all windows.
Mac or Linux?
Mostly Mac, dabble in Linux

If you REALLY want the video, you can use Snapz Pro on the Mac to capture the video off your your screen and re-encode it into a new file. It basically takes a bunch of screen shots (though not of the whole screen - just the part you indicate) and strings them together into a movie file. I've only done it once and it was a pain... but it worked.
Interesting. Thanks. I'm thinking sooner or later the flash resources downloader will catch up with brightcove. Until then..Boiler
Will probably cost $19.95 if they want you to have it!
Hi Folks,
Our Web videos are not intended for download... maybe one day, but we're not there yet. Good to know that ppl might be interested in that though...
You can, however, download our woodworking DVDs through iAmplify.
Thanks, Gina
