Hi guys and gals..
I’m new to woodworking and for the life of me I cannot find a well stocked lumber yard in the Dallas-Fort Worth area (Texas).
Any Texans out there know some lumber yards?
Thanks in advance

Fijat,
Try Brazos Forest products, Grand Prarie Texas. I do not think they are open on the weekends. {972} 602-1777. Sweeny lumber is another. Good luck
Tom,

Thank you both... I'll be visiting them all on monday.
Try Austin Hardwoods Ltd. I used them several years ago when I lived in Abilene. Here is a link to their "Yellowpages" listing. I could not find a website.

Although I haven't availed myself of the service(s) yet, if you use the DFW page of craigslist, type "sawmill" in the search box there are a couple of local sawyers who have some nice looking wood. The added bonus (imho)is support of local small business and the green aspect of it.
Best of luck!
Fijat,
Sweeney is the place I have gone, north east of downtown Ft. Worth. Across the street is RESDOOR that has millwork and doors if you need that stuff. Also Plywood Company of Ft. Worth (north side) for all your plywood and cabinet supplies. There are a few sawmills west of Ft. Worth but I don't have details.
I think that RESDOOR is closing their doors, but not sure----WW 57
WW 57,
That would be too bad. I see their trucks all over town. I remodeled a house and bought 14 pre-hung doors from them, cheaper than the big boxes plus free delivery. They were late on the delivery and I had gone home so they found an un-locked window, basically broke in and put the doors inside, locked up and left. They could have just left them in the driveway.
I am not positive about them closing, just passing on what someone told me---WW 57
On the Fort Worth side of the Metroplex--the good side--check out Barney Robinson Hardwoods as well as R.E. Sweeney. Also, someone mentioned Plywood Co. of Fort Worth. They have a great inventory of rough lumber as well as plywood and Pionite.
Much thanks to all again!.. Couldn't make it out to window shop today. I did however check out the plywood of fw co site and they seem to have a large variety...I might start off there..Thanks again.
Also try WoodWorld. They are north of LBJ by TI. Good People!
When I lived in Ft. Worth I bought almost all of my lumber from
