Dewalt dw331K Jigsaw?? Any thoughts
Dewalt has a new Jigsaw apparently. It is the DW 331K. It is new enough that I am finding in difficult to find any reveiws on it. Does anyone have one of these? I would like to get the Bosch 1590 but the store that I’m buying this from does not handle Bosch and they are giving me $60 off on any tool I want (long story). The other ones are the Milwaukee 6266-22 and the P-C 9543.

I've had the new 331K for about 4 weeks now. Probably not enough to really judge, but for now it seems excellent. Cuts straight, and the blade change mechanism is a joy. I've had Bosch jigsaws for years, and can't complain about them, but I saw this model and went for it for a change.

Thank you for the reply Ring. Would you find the vibration levels to be comparable to the Bosch that you previously had?
I'd say similar to the Bosch, although I have no objective measure. They're both quite comfortable to use.

Thank you for your replies. It is so great to have a resource like this when it comes time for "us woodoworkers" to make a tool buying decision. It turns out that the store has ordered 25 Bosch Jigsaws and I can have one for the sale price of $84.95. A heck of a deal. So, if it is the 1590, I will get that one, if not, I will probably lean towards the dewalt or milwaukee.
Thanks again for your help.
A year or so ago I bought the other model they carry (was the top of the line) and it didn't cut straight. What I mean is that the chuck (?) held the blade at an angle relative to the shoe. So to cut straight the saw had to be pushed at an angle . It made it difficult for me to use though others didn't seem to be bothered by it. However it made the use of an edge guide impossible. The chuck could be turned straight using a pair of pliers, but it would twist again in short order.
The new unit looks totally different so I suspect this will not be a problem.

Have not had this problem at all with the new model, and it would have shown up immediately.

Yea, it would show up imeadiatly. When I posted the problem on Break time several comented that theirs did it as well. They just weren't bothered by it. The new saw looks well made.

The Bosch has been the best in the world. The Dewalt looks like it is as good, plus having a few new tricks up it sleeve. An easier blade lock. A blade that will cut flush to the nose of the saw, looks like something you might need a couple of times a year, but those times might pay for thae saw all by itself.
