I bought the Dewalt 682 biscuit joiner a few days ago. After a few trial cuts I noticed a few problems;the slots were too deep for the #20 biscuits,I did correct this by adjusting the plunge depth, but I had to turn the screw 4 times!next was the biscuit was too loose. The biggest problem i noticed was the slot created was not parallel to the edge of the material,I’m trying to correct this by adjusting the base. The last problem is as in other reviews I’ve read the dust chute does clog.I worked with a Makita 3901 and did’nt have any problems like this.I think I’ll be returning this Dewalt for a Makita.

I haven't worked with the current crop of machines, so I can't offer you advice on which are better, but I do know that a biscuit joiner that doesn't line up properly and cuts an oversize slot is worse than useless.
