I’ve learned so much reading the info you guys write. Now I’d like to ask for advice on making dentil molding. I want to put it on some boookcases I am currently making. I saw an article that explained how to do it, but can’t find it again (no surprise there). I don’t think it was in FW and I can’t find it in the Wood magazine index. Anybody got some ideas? Thanks.

I vaguely recall Tom Silva from This Old House had a recent article on how he made that molding.
American Woodworker #86 (April 2001) featured a bookcase with dentil molding along the top edge. I wish I could repeat the instructions on how they made their own dentil work but they aren't clear enough for me to understand and pass on. Good Luck.
Alas our failing memories! My definition of getting old is when the stuff you forget outweighs the stuff you remember. Try Fine Woodworking No. 154 (Februrary 2002) Page 100. Looks like fun, once you get the math all worked out.
Thanks for all your help. I'll look up those articles. I found an article on the Popularmechanics.com site that was helpful, too. It is a gun cabinet trimmed with dentil molding.
