The X5 is made to higher standard than the Industrial series, which is made in China. There are still Unisaws around that are not X5 that are the same except for the package deals and warranty as you mentioned.
For me the X5 worked out well, because I got the mobile base, $100 back, and free shipping. Turned out to be priced about the same as a 5 HP left tilt industrial with Biesemeyer and an extension table, and I got the five-year warranty. Not saying that's always true (I got a killer deal), but be sure to examine what the whole package is worth to you as you compare the prices. My goal is for my work to outlast me. Expect my joinery to get simpler as time goes by.
One difference that I have noticed is that the industrial Unisaw comes with only one cast iron wing while the X5 comes with two. I'm sure there may be additional differences beyond the warranties, but that is the biggest difference that I can see.
thank you all for your replies, greatly appreciated.
