Hi all,
Would someone who owns a Delta 50-875 Air Filtration Unit do me a huge favor? Turn the unit on low speed and look through the grate in back to see how much up/down travel the squirrel cage has as it rotates.
Mine has about 3/4″ up and down travel. The motor may be mounted on rubber bushings or something, or it may also have been damaged in shipping. I’d like a comparison before I take further measures with Delta or the retailer.
Hey, are you guys surprised to see me out of the “New to Woodworking” forum? Someone left the door open by mistake. Ha ha. Don’t worry, I’ll go back.

From your description, you have a bent blower wheel. It is fairly common, usually you can straighten it out easily if needed. If the machine isn't vibrating excessively you can just ignore it.

It looks suspicious enough that I'm going to go with that assumption--bent wheel. Thanks John.

John,
I had the Delta Air Cleaner replaced. The new one works wonderfully -- no high-pitched whine, no wobble. Ahh! Clean air!
Thanks for your suggestion.
