Some of the moldings in our house have gouges on outside corners.
I recall seeing an article on how to repair various types of damage, but darned if I can find that article or even remember if it covered damage to corners.
The moldings are painted, so I don’t have to worry about matching color or grain–in fact, I don’t even need to use a wood patch (although I’d rather). Can gouges to corners be repaired?

Make a tape dam, and Bondo! Great stuff sands down perfect and paint.
I was married by a judge - I should have asked for a jury.

Bones,Bondo... I didn't know it was sandable. Does it need a special primer or stain blocker?Janet
hi janet,
bones is correct. bondo is excellent for what ails you. one can build it up like clay and after it hardens it can, not only be sanded, you can also carve or file it to shape. you may prime it with primer or not.

Yep, sand away and I always use a primer if painting. If you are painting it will even out anything. It wixes easy, and sets quick! It's to woodworking what duck tape is to NASCAR! (I know it's duct tape, but if you are from the south it's pronounced DUCK) Have a good one! :)

Try ZAR Epoxy. So simple to use and can sand or rout in a few minutes.
