I can’t find my table and formula to determine the saw settings for outside crown miters.
Big build up, about a foot high, so you can’t build a site specific jig for this one, have to do it flat
Can anyone help?
Thanks

You would need to say if the crown was 45/45 or 52/38. I just went blank as to what you call that rake of the crown to the wall. The Construction Master Pro model 4056 will determine it for you. Gary Katz web page has a list of the saw settings for both styles of rake.
For a 90degree corner
I think a 38/52 would be set at 31.61 degrees miter -/ 33.86 degree bevel
a 45/45 would be set at 35.26 miter / 30.00 bevel.
We run thousands of feet of trim here in Atlanta in commercial buildings but usually cut it in position. I sell the jobs, and don't install them so I have not cut crown on the flat for a couple of years. Try Gary Katz web page, he is great.
try http://josephfusco.org/Articles/Crown_molding/crownscript.html
Hope that helps

There is a formula that allows one to vary the spring and wall angle to any angle they want or need
I have a chart and I have used the construction Master 4065. I couldn't think of spring angle as I was refering to rake. I usually use 47 and 49 profiles and cut them in position. I only cut base flat as most of my crown is 6 inch augmented with some style of base and maybe a reversed base cap trailing below.
I'm not sure of the URL, but check the DeWalt website, they have it online.
http://www.installcrown.com
has both tables for 45/45 and 52/38 spring angles, plus a calculator for other spring angles.
