I’m looking for a good plan for a Cross-Cut Sled for cutting segments for segmented turning on a table saw.
Thanks, Larry

Larry,
Try going to the FWW Home Page and put crosscut sled in the search box. Should yield many articles. Also try the here in Knots as this topic has come up many times.
If that fails you or you find that you need more specifics post a follow up here and I'm sure you'll get many responses. Let us know how you make out and feel free to ask questions.
Generally speaking the front fence must be square (perpendicular) to the blade which may involve making sure your tablesaw is finely tuned.

hey larry,
last semester we made one for a 12-sided "ring". 'twas the only time i've tried it. the student and i learned a few things. at 12-sided the chance of error is high and not easty to see coming. our research found many good web sites on the matter. i, for one, would very much enjoy seeing your progress here on knots. i have not had call to revisit the world of segmented turning, but it could come up again with some other kid in class.
good luck and keep us posted,
eef

Here's a link to Kevin Neely's segmented turning site with sled plans. The only drawback is that each different angle requires a new sled. That's why I now use an Incra miter gauge and sled. It's dead on accurate and infinitely adjustable.
