Craftsman Professional Dovetail Jig
I recently purchased a Craftsman Pro. Dovetail Jig, and after spending a few seemingly endless hours putting it together am now finding I have to tweak it. For example, the springs that keep tension on the clamping bars appear to be too big which in turn does not allow the clamping bars to clamp anything less than 1″ thick wood. I have since trimmed them to fix this problem. Another thing I noticed is the template, which is supposed to be adjustable, does not seem to move far enough toward the front and thus even with the stock. I haven’t put it to use yet, but this latter problem seems to be a show stopper.
Does anyone out there have one of these and use it. I don’t think it is setup wrong, but I will say that the instruction manual has left me scratching my head.

Boy,
I checked the Craftsman web site and can't find a "professional" model listed. If it's the $199 model, Look at the FWW main site for a review. If you've already "fixed" a problem, you can't return it, which is probably what you should have done once you noticed things weren't up to par. Did you know that you could have bought a heavy duty Porter Cable Omni Jig for a bit more?

Professional should have said Industrial. I got a pretty good deal on it which left the OmniJig still quite a bit more. Who knows, that's where I may end up. Thanks for the response.
