Craftsman 21759 Thickness Planer
I am considering purchasing the Craftsman 13″ Thickness Planer Model # 21759. This is the three blade machine with the digital readout. I wanted to find out if anyone is having any performance or reliability issues with this machine. Please advise.

Last October I ordered a 21759 and received it with great anticipation. My first planer, I carefully followed all the instructions. But I burned the motor up promptly and returned it. No criticism of the planer, but maybe my fault. Bought a Dewalt 735 instead and am delighted with it.
The 21759's dust collection using a trash can didn't work well for me, it kept blowing off the can and dusting the shop. Good chip blower though.
The DW735 has a good blower too and I hooked up a dryer vent hose that leads outside the shop and that works for me. Make sure you have a dedicated power circuit, when it turns on, it needs all 20 amps.
Hope that helps.
