Can’t do much, but this is something that any woodworker who has any PPE around their workshop can do. I am sending this PPE Care Package to a front line health care worker (Hospital Med-Surg unit nurse in a high COVID 19 case density area). I am sure there are a lot of us with usable PPE that at risk health care workers need NOW more than we do.

I gave a respirator with an N95 filter setup to a NYC cop today. Stop sanding for a while and give up you gear!
Yes yes yes!! You can deal with a bandana over your mouth for a few weeks. Lives are at stake!
At work since I also do accident investigations, a couple weeks ago we were fitted with respirators. Seems ironic now that there aren't any masks around. I have one N95 and another half face with interchangeable filters. They were provided for work, and I can't give those away. I looked around for the box of dust masks I had sitting around here forever but apparently I used them up. This is a good idea though, thanks for posting!
Email your company and get permission to let one of the 2 go. There are filters availble out there but no masks to fit them to. You'll save a life, and I doubt your company will say no...especially in an email.
I work in a healthcare system in Ohio. Our system does not want employees to bring in their own PPE, as healthcare regulations require fit testing for N95 respirators. This may change as this situation grows, and each healthcare system sets their own rules.
Here in NYC the police were each issued a single-use mask, one pair of nitrile gloves, and a 2oz bottle of hand sanitizer.
Then a spokesman went on camera to announce that all officers were issued PPE. Make the offer, if they turn it down offer again to someone else.
Your post suggests that the offer should not be made. Shameful as far as I am concerned.
Where I live hospitals are soliciting the community for home sewn face masks. When shortages of PPE become critical in Ohio, those rules will change. That may be soon.
Just putting this back on page one. Please donate your PPE.
