I have been using the move copy tool for quite a while with no troubles at all. Today the tool stopped working. The indications are that after I start the move(with copy activated via the ctrl key) and I get to my destination and click the first copy is in place and if I type in 5x i get the 5 copies I expect. If I ask for a linear array via the L5 or 5L entry it just sits! Nothing happens. This was sudden; I have been all over the support sites to no avail. I would really appreciate any info if anyone has run into this one.
Thanks Wayne

So you are trying to distribute copies in between the first and last of the array? Try using /5 (that's forward slash-5) instead of L5. By default L is the keyboard shortcut for the Line tool so typing L will call that tool.
Remember to click at the end of the move operation to drop the copy. Then enter the desired move distance if needed and then type /5 and hit Enter.

move/copy problem
Dave; Thanks for the ideas. I have tried both forms, L5 or 5L, niether 1 works. the tool switches to the line tool as soon as I hit an L. I was using this tool on a drawing and it became unstable; would work sometimes and then it wouldn't work. Now it won't work at all. I think I inadvertently have screwed up my tool bar or settings somehow. I am at a loss!
Thanks for the help. ................Wayne
Evidently you didn't read
Evidently I wasn't clear enough. L is NOT the right key to use. You are seeing exactly what I said you would see. L is the keyboard shortcut for the Line tool. You need to be hitting the forward slash key instead.
What you are trying to do has never worked with the L key.
L key vs / key
Dave; Thank you so much. My only excuse is that I am 71 years old and I had major brain fad! WHY I continued to use L is beyond me. But I did do what you said I all is OK. I was wrapped so tight around the axle the las 8 hrs. that I couldn't see what I was really doing.
Again Thanks ...........................Wayne
