Copper Moldalso makes the best cookware due to its conductance of heat and it is beautiful to look at. Actually, the older it gets the prettier it becomes.
Unlined copper molds ARE safe to use. The food product is not kept in it for a long enough period of time to cause any problems. And what problems could occur? COPPER IS GOOD FOR YOU IN SMALL QUANTITIES, see the above paragraphs. Unlined copper pots are used in some of the best French kitchens and unlined copper is perfect for heating chocolate.

On what source are you basing your information? I have several copper pans that need to be retinned and I would like to avoid the expense and hassle of that if your information is correct. Copper is an essential mineral but in higher quantities can cause liver, brain and endocrine damage and eventually death (see Wilson's disease). Hardly worth the expense of retinning I would say>

Neil, this is just a spam message looking for hits on a link, I suppose. Not worthy of a response. I don't understand why these can't just be deep sixed as they occ ur.
copper pans
Damn, I was hoping I wouldn't have to have them retinned. Thanks Steve.

Well Neil,
You can always use them as counterweights for your new Old World double pulley light ( http://forums.finewoodworking.com/fine-woodworking-knots/general-discussion/old-world-double-pulley-light )
Or as storage containers for a nice assortment of automotive seals ( http://forums.finewoodworking.com/fine-woodworking-knots/general-discussion/automotive-seals )
