Collection chips from a mortiser

Is there a good way to collect chips from a mortiser? I try to velcro my shop vac to the mortiser, that’s always been pretty lame.
Can someone give me some advice or better yet, post a picture of how they use their shop vac or DC with a mortiser?

I used PVC and connected with my central shop vac. Keeping the chips out of the way makes for much improved mortising.

Very cool... I think maybe I need to look at a more permanent solution like yours. Mine is a duct tape/velcro version of that and it moves around! LOL!

Jerry's idea looks good. I have a 600 lb. floor mortiser and sorry to say duct tape and a shop vac hose is my primitive way to collecting. I might do something as Jerry when I get time.
