Has anyone hired a cnc router service?
I have a 10′ x 14″ x 2″ walnut plank that I would like to carve a curved profile into.
Are there any services in the nyc tri-state area and how do these services charge for a job like this.
Thanks for the help.
best,

If you are referring to the seat it's a veneer not a solid wood. To make a seat from solid and say 3/4" thick one could make kerf cuts on a table saw and use an angle grinder and sanding discs to make the profile.
I have used CNC and lasers from secondary sources to mill wood and metal but I don't see the need for your application to indulge in such for one piece.
I am a furniture designer / maker in Brooklyn. I also have a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering and consult for free, or for beer. You can contact me through my website: eitzhadar.com.
I like to know a little more about what you want to do. If CNC were the way to go, that 10 foot length might be a bit of a problem. You probably could find someone to do that, but the price would go up, I think.
Y,
I will check your website and find a good place for a beer.
