I normally buy Whiteside, but with the 25 percent off at woodcraft, I purchased the CMT 8 piece dovetail set for use with my INCRA jig. I hope that CMT are equal to Whiteside. The savings was too good to pass up.

Hello Bone,
From what I've read, the CMT bits are good. I, too, caught Woodcraft's sale for a 13 piece dovetail set for the Leigh jig...
I was pleasantly surprised when the Ft. Worth store offered to order that set at the sale price, and their sale wasn't limited to stock on hand...

I ONLY buy CMT, I find the carbide to be of superior quality, they stay sharp longer than any other bits I found so far. For the price it's cheaper to replace them than to have them sharpened !

bones,
I've had really good luck with both Whiteside and CMT. I usually buy Whiteside first (trying to keep it in the USA), but CMT offers many more profiles and are usually in stock.
25% off is a great deal for good bits... Might need to inventory the shop and stock up on the frequently used sets at this price.
Thanks for the tip!STEELHEAD
CMT are my favorite router bits. They are 25% off at http://www.mikestools.com/ all the time.

Jerry,
I went to the website you listed looking for a comparison of the 13 piece Leigh dovetail set made by CMT.
http://www.mikestools.com/800-519-11-cmt-13-piece-dovetail-straight-bit-set-for-leigh-d4-jig-1-2-1-4-shanks.aspx
Compared to the Woodcraft sale price, Mikestools is still $40 more, PLUS $6 more for shipping....the 10% off sale is for other Vendors and Brands.... FYI

It looks like CMT raised the list price of that set. Mikes Tools CMT bits are exactly 25% off of list price. Mikes Tools is a good source when Woodcraft no longer offers the sale price and I am very happy with his service.
