Thanks for all the quick and informative responses. The points about the Rikon being an unproven, tough to support, chinese machine is what I needed to hear.
Will choosing a Delta 14″ BS be very difficult. There seems to be many different 14″models. The FWW article featured a 28-241, I believe the 28-248 is a newer model and then there is the X machine. I know there are several more also.
How do you guys recommend I make this choice? Is it strictly a budget issue or is one saw better than the next?

Why not post this query a third time? You'd get even more responses...
Deltas are like GM cars. Too many models with too many features to choose from.. with the lower end models offering poor dust collection and difficult blade changes.
The Delta you want is around $900.
As I mentioned before.. I solved this dilemma by going with the Grizzly Ultimate 14" BS. $375.
I ordered and installed the riser block and some Timberwolf blades and I have a machine that cuts straight and smooth as butter. I just could not be happier.
